Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners. TheChecker.AI uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and improve our Service.
Whether analytics and advertising cookies start on or off depends on where you are. We work this out from your IP address, which is approximate, so a VPN or your network can place you somewhere else. We ask for your choice on your first visit, and keep these cookies off until you make one, if you appear to be in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Switzerland, the state of California in the United States, the province of Quebec in Canada, Brazil, China, Japan, Montenegro, Nigeria, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand or Türkiye. We also ask first in territories linked to those places, such as the French overseas territories, and whenever we cannot tell where you are. Once we have asked, we keep asking until you choose: a request you have not answered never counts as a yes. Everywhere else these cookies are on by default. Either way, you can change this at any time from Cookie settings, also linked in the site footer.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Essential Cookies and Storage
These are needed for the website to work and are always on. Most of them live in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies:
- Sign-in: your session token (
auth_token), kept until you sign out or it expires - Your cookie choice (
tc_consent), kept for 182 days, after which we ask again. Where we do not ask first, the default is recorded the same way and renewed when it expires - A note that we have asked you, or that you have chosen for yourself (
tc_consent_asked), so that a request you ignored or a choice that expired is asked again and never switched on by default - Free demo usage counters (
demo_attempts_used,humanize_demo_attempts_used) - Payment security: on pages where you pay, Stripe may set its own fraud-prevention cookies
2.2 Analytics Cookies
In the places listed in section 1, analytics cookies are on only if you accept them. Everywhere else they are on unless you turn them off. They help us understand how visitors interact with our website:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Navigation paths and user flow
- Device and browser information
- Geographic location (country/city level)
- Error messages and performance metrics
We use Google Analytics (cookies such as _ga and _ga_*) and Microsoft Clarity (cookies such as _clck and _clsk). Clarity also records how pages are used, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, so we can replay sessions and find problems.
2.3 Advertising Cookies
In the places listed in section 1, advertising cookies are on only if you accept them. Everywhere else they are on unless you turn them off. Google Ads (cookies such as _gcl_au) and the Meta Pixel (cookies such as _fbp and _fbc) tell us whether our ads lead to sign-ups and purchases.
3. Third-Party Cookies
We use services from third-party providers that may set cookies on your device:
- Google Analytics and Google Ads: Website analytics and ad measurement, depending on your cookie setting (section 1)
- Microsoft Clarity: Website analytics and session replay, depending on your cookie setting (section 1)
- Meta Pixel: Ad measurement, depending on your cookie setting (section 1)
- Stripe: Payment processing and fraud prevention
- Cloudflare: Performance optimization and security
These third parties have their own privacy policies governing their use of cookies. We recommend reviewing their policies:
4. How Long They Last
Your cookie choice is kept for 182 days. Your sign-in token stays until you sign out or it expires. Analytics and advertising cookies, where they are on, last for the period their providers set. You can remove them at any time from Cookie settings or in your browser.
5. How to Manage Cookies
5.1 Your Choices on Our Site
Use Cookie settings (also in the site footer) to accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies separately. If you turn a category off or withdraw consent, we remove those cookies from our domain and reload the page, and any other open tabs of this site, so the scripts that set them stop running.
5.2 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through settings. You can:
- View and delete cookies stored on your device
- Block all cookies or specific types of cookies
- Set preferences for specific websites
- Receive notifications before cookies are set
Browser-specific instructions:
5.3 Opt-Out of Analytics
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5.4 Important Note
Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of our Service. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are necessary for the Service to function properly.
6. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers include "Do Not Track" (DNT) features that signal to websites you visit that you do not want your online activity tracked. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics and advertising cookies wherever you are: we do not ask, we do not turn them on by default, and they stay off even if you accepted them before turning the signal on. You can still opt in from Cookie settings. This is also how we honour opt-out requests under California law: with Global Privacy Control switched on, analytics and advertising cookies stay off without you doing anything on this site.
7. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date.
